The role

Hexis is a personalised nutrition platform with several distinct revenue lines, each carrying its own economics, growth dynamics and cost structure. As those lines scale in parallel, the CEO needs a trusted strategic finance partner who can cut through the complexity and provide a clear, top-level view of business performance — where the company is earning its return, where it is not, and where there is room to accelerate.

This is not a bookkeeping or compliance role. An established accountancy firm handles day-to-day financial operations. We are looking for an experienced finance leader who can make 2–4 focused days a month count, working alongside the CEO on the decisions that matter most.

Where you'll focus

Revenue and unit economics. Build and maintain a clear financial view of each revenue line — performance against spend, customer acquisition cost, and contribution margin — and surface the leading indicators that signal when to invest harder or course-correct early.

Capital allocation. Advise the CEO on how to deploy capital across the business for the strongest return, model growth scenarios and their financial implications, and maintain cash discipline while the company invests in proven channels.

Pricing and margin. Provide oversight of pricing relative to the value delivered, supporting healthy margin performance as the business scales.

Fundraise readiness and reporting. Establish the reporting cadence and financial infrastructure expected by institutional investors, support board reporting and investor updates, and partner with the CEO on fundraising strategy, valuation modelling and due diligence when the time is right.

Governance. Oversee the relationship with the existing accountancy firm and ensure financial controls and processes remain appropriate to the company's stage as it evolves — without over-engineering for complexity that does not yet exist.

What you'll bring

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 10+ years post-qualification, including meaningful time with early-stage or high-growth technology businesses.
  • Experience as a CFO, Finance Director or senior finance leader in a SaaS or subscription business, with a strong command of recurring-revenue metrics (ARR, MRR, LTV, CAC, NRR, churn).
  • A genuinely strategic operator — the person who helps a CEO see the whole picture and act on it, not just report on it.
  • Experience disaggregating performance across multiple revenue lines with different economics.
  • Familiarity with the Irish and/or UK startup ecosystem, including Enterprise Ireland, SEIS/EIS, R&D tax credits and grant funding.
  • A track record of preparing a company for institutional fundraising, including financial due diligence, data-room preparation and investor engagement.

Working style

  • Comfortable operating fractionally with a high degree of autonomy, focusing limited time on the highest-leverage work.
  • A strong communicator who can translate financial complexity into clear, decisive recommendations for a non-finance CEO and board.
  • Collaborative, with a track record of effective cross-functional partnership.

Engagement terms

  • Commitment: 2–4 days per month, retained.
  • Location: Hybrid (Dublin, Ireland).
  • Compensation: Competitive day rate, dependent on experience.
