The Role
Read this part first…
We're hiring the person who will take Hexis from a platform trusted by some of the best athletes on earth to the Global Nutrition Operating System for Human Performance.
Hexis is already trusted by UCI World Tour Cycling Teams, Premier League Clubs, International Rugby Organisations and more. That's credibility. Now we are scaling it.
If that makes you lean in, keep reading.
If it didn't, this probably isn't the role for you and there are no hard feelings.
What you'll own
Five of the “big rocks”:
- The technical vision: Set the architecture and roadmap built for the scale ahead, and make the calls that get us there.
- AI-first engineering: Build an organisation that ships fast and uses the best tools, AI included, exceptionally well. Not AI as a label, AI woven into how the team builds, every day.
- The team: Grow and develop the existing engineering team, and lead it through the next phase of growth.
- Scale and reliability: Deliver a platform that is fast, secure and dependable for elite users who don't get second chances on race or game day, with data security, privacy and compliance.
- Science into product: Work closely with our PhDs, product designers and performance scientists to turn research into features that athletes genuinely trust to elevate their health and performance.
Who you are
You've done this before. 8+ years in engineering, 3+ in senior leadership (CTO, VP Eng, or equivalent), and you've scaled both a product and a team through real growth, not just maintained one.
This is primarily a hands-on technical role, expect to spend 50-75%+ of your time as an individual contributor, owning architecture, writing code, and shipping product alongside a growing team.
You can lead by example, bringing the team with you. Modern stack (TypeScript, React Native, Next.js, Node, GCP). Comfortable in a fast moving startup and able to sustain high intensity over time in a high performance environment.
You treat AI as infrastructure, not a buzzword, and you have a real point of view on how it changes the way teams build and operate.
And you love sport. We build for athletes, and a lot of us practice what we preach ourselves, running, triathlon, cycling, etc. You don't need to race or compete. But if building the future of human performance is the kind of problem you'd happily turn over on a long ride, run or in the gym you'll feel at home here.
The honest bit
This is a high-bar role. Ambitious targets, a demanding roadmap, and the expectation that you'll set the standard for technical excellence and then keep raising the floor on that standard. We move fast and we expect a lot, of the platform, and of each other.
We can only build this with someone who genuinely wants it. If that's you, this is the most exciting technical challenge in sports nutrition, probably also in human performance.
